The Vietnam Highlights Experience 14 Days is the ultimate north-to-south journey across one of Southeast Asia’s most captivating countries. Seven destinations, countless stories, one incredible adventure.

Start in Hanoi, where ancient pagodas, craft-lined streets, and a lively cyclo ride through the Old Quarter set the scene. Then head to Ninh Binh for two days of boat rides through UNESCO-listed Trang An, a climb to the top of Mua Cave, and a leisurely bike ride through peaceful countryside.

Next, sail into Halong Bay on a traditional cruise. Explore limestone caves, kayak through emerald waters, and sleep under the stars.

Fly south to Hue, Vietnam’s imperial city. Cook a local meal, visit royal tombs, and cruise along the Perfume River. Then cross the scenic Hai Van Pass into Hoi An, where lantern-lit streets and centuries-old merchant houses await.

From there, dive into the energy of Ho Chi Minh City. Visit the haunting Cu Chi Tunnels and the fascinating Cao Dai Temple. Finally, drift through the lush waterways of the Mekong Delta on a sampan, stopping at floating markets where warm smiles greet you at every turn.

DAY 1: HANOI ARRIVAL

Arrive at Noi Bai Airport. You are welcomed by our driver at the exit gate. Transfer to the hotel (45 minutes). Check in and have a restful overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 2: HANOI FULL DAY CITY TOUR

The full-day tour takes you around Hanoi’s highlights. The sites included in the day tour in Hanoi are the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and his stilt house, Presidential Palace, and the One Pillar Pagoda.

You also have a chance to visit the first national university, the Temple of Literature, which dates back to the 11th century. You can learn about Buddhist practices in a serene lakeside pagoda. Visit the famous Ethnology Museum.

Back in the Old Quarter, walk through the narrow streets that were famous for their specialized craft-making guilds. The streets are named for their product or location and still bear such names nowadays.

You can experience the vibrant rush hour culture of Hanoi by taking a ride on a Cyclo, instead of walking. You’ll witness the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter and the French Quarter’s main streets, immersing yourself in the city’s lively atmosphere.

After that, you’ll take part in a customary water puppet display that showcases Vietnamese folklore and culture.

DAY 3: HANOI - NINH BINH - TRANG AN - BAI DINH PAGODA

Enjoy an enchanting journey from Hanoi to the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and Bai Dinh Pagoda.

Start your adventure in Hanoi, and travel to Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning karst landscapes, serene waterways, and hidden caves.

Enjoy a boat ride through the lush, verdant scenery before heading to Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest Buddhist complex in Vietnam. Marvel at its magnificent architecture and serene atmosphere, offering a perfect end to your cultural and spiritual exploration.

DAY 4: NINH BINH - MUA CAVE - BICH DONG PAGODA - BIKING

Breakfast at your hotel in Ninh Binh. We will start the day by visiting Mua Cave. The cave is compared with the “Great Wall of China”. Here, you walk 500 steps to reach the top of Mua Cave, then take a lookout for a splendid overview of Ninh Binh.

Having lunch at a local restaurant. Then, continue the journey with the ancient Bich Dong Pagoda, nestled harmoniously into the mountainside.

As you explore this sacred site, you’ll be captivated by the intricate architecture and the serene ambiance that surrounds it. Take a moment to reflect and soak in the spiritual atmosphere that permeates the pagoda.

Then, biking and enjoying the peaceful scenery there.

DAY 5: NINH BINH - HALONG

After breakfast, at around 8:00 am, we will pick you up to embark on a journey to the mesmerizing Halong Bay. On arrival, you are welcomed on board and served a mouth-watering lunch while cruising through the bay.

Depending on which cruise you choose, the detailed itinerary will include a visit to a karst cave, kayaking (an extra option on most of the boats, some boats have kayaking included), swimming in crystal water, enjoying the landscape, or relaxing at the sundeck.

The day will end with a sumptuous dinner on board, and you will spend the night under the starry sky.

DAY 6: HALONG - HANOI - FLIGHT TO HUE

Wake up on the bay to the sounds of waves, fresh air, and a breeze. A brand new day comes. Following breakfast, you can discover a breathtaking limestone grotto before returning to the boat for a scenic cruise back to the dock.

Your boat will arrive at the harbor by 11:30 am, and your driver is waiting to take you to the airport to take a flight to Hue. Arrive in Hue, meet our guide and driver, then depart for the hotel. Overnight in Hue.

DAY 7: HUE - COOKING CLASS - CITY TOUR

Visit Thien Mu Pagoda – the symbol of Hue City, and then return to the boat for a scenic cruise to Thuy Bieu village. Arrive in Thuy Bieu, and visit the local market to prepare for a cooking class with our chef.

Come back to Thuy Bieu restaurant for a cooking class where you will prepare lunch by yourself. For the rest of the day, visit Minh Mang and Khai Dinh Tombs. Back to the hotel and overnight in Hue.

DAY 8: HUE - DRIVE TO HOI AN

Followed by the ancient citadel is an ancient town, Hoi An. After a rewarding drive through the scenic Ocean Clouds Mountain Pass (Hai Van Pass) with a stop at the Cham Museum and Marble Mountains in Danang, you will arrive in Hoi An.

Check in your hotel and have leisure time. Overnight in Hoi An.

DAY 9: HOI AN ANCIENT TOWN HALF DAY TOUR

A half-day wandering through the picturesque streets of this 16th-century trading port, where the buildings remind us of its Chinese, Japanese, French, and Vietnamese architectural styles; visit the Chinese Embassy Halls, Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda & Tan Ky House.

The afternoon will be free time to shop or relax. Overnight in Hoi An.

DAY 10: HOI AN - DRIVE TO DA NANG - FLIGHT TO HO CHI MINH

Transfer to the airport for the morning flight to HCMC. On arrival, transfer and check in to your hotel. Half-day orientation tour of Ho Chi Minh City includes The Old Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Independence Hall, War Remnants Museum, and Ben Thanh Market.

DAY 11: HO CHI MINH CITY - CAO DAI - CU CHI

This morning, we transferred to Tay Ninh, where the Cao Dai Temple is located, to observe the midday service. Cao Dai is a combination of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Christianity.

After lunch, explore the complicated network of underground tunnels in Cu Chi, which were used by the V.C. and guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War. Overnight in HCMC.

DAY 12: HO CHI MINH CITY - MEKONG DELTA

Discover the lush beauty of the Mekong Delta as you wind your way down narrow canals on a sampan that glides along with fruit orchards, paddy fields, and sleepy villages

You will have a chance to visit a floating market, where vendors display the delta’s bounty of fruits and vegetables on their boats. However, busy selling and buying, they will never forget to throw happy smiles and waves at you. Overnight onboard.

DAY 13: MEKONG DELTA - HO CHI MINH CITY

Breakfast on board, then continue to cruise the Mekong Delta before you head back to the wharf where your vehicle is waiting to take you back to HCMC. Overnight in HCMC.
