Ninh Binh is one of northern Vietnam’s most spectacular natural destinations. People often call it “Halong Bay on land,” and once you see it, you will immediately understand why. Towering limestone karsts rise from emerald rivers and lush green rice paddies. It is dramatic, peaceful, and deeply beautiful.

This 2-day private tour gives you enough time to truly explore the region. On one hand, you glide through the mystical waterways of Trang An and wander the vast Bai Dinh Pagoda complex. On the other hand, you also cycle through quiet villages, climb to Mua Cave for breathtaking panoramic views, and soak up the gentle pace of rural life.

Furthermore, because the tour runs from Hanoi and back, it makes a perfect short escape without needing to fly anywhere.

Itinerary

DAY 1: HANOI - NINH BINH - TRANG AN - BAI DINH PAGODA

Your day begins at 8:00 AM post-breakfast, as you meet your guide and driver for a two-hour scenic drive to Ninh Binh. Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to the boat pier to board a traditional rowing boat.

Glide through the stunning waterways of Trang An ecological site, where forested limestone peaks rise from emerald waters, creating a mystical, fairytale-like landscape. Here, you’ll explore a network of 11 caves, each adorned with colorful stalactites of various shapes. After this enchanting boat trip, enjoy lunch at a local eatery.

The afternoon takes you to Bai Dinh Pagoda, a site revered by locals and home to Vietnam’s largest bronze Buddha statue (10 meters tall, 100 tons). Marvel at the 500 La Han statues within the complex.

Your day concludes with a return to your Ninh Binh hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 2: BIKING TOUR – BICH DONG – MUA CAVE – HANOI

Awaken to the crisp morning air and savor your breakfast. This morning you’ll begin your day with an invigorating bicycle ride, weaving through a landscape of towering limestone karsts, peaceful waterways, quaint villages, and lush rice paddies dotted with historic sites.

Next, venture to Mua Cave (Dancing Cave), situated near Tam Coc, just 3.5km away. Ascend over 100 steps up the mountain to reach this vantage point, renowned as one of Ninh Binh’s most spectacular viewpoints. From here, marvel at the panoramic vista of the sprawling city below.

Descend and refuel with lunch at a local restaurant before journeying back to Hanoi, marking the end of your adventure-filled tour.
