Experience the Mekong Delta 4 days

Depart from Saigon to the Mekong Delta and enjoy the scenic journey along the way, bordered by green rice fields. Upon arrival at My Tho, you will take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view stilt houses, fruit plantations, and fishing villages along the riverbank, then stop at the famous Tortoise islet and have lunch at the orchard garden.

Then you can enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of coconut trees along the natural canals of Ben Tre, the kingdom of coconut, and taste seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music” performed by the locals.

Continue your trip to Dong Thap, and stop at the historical Xeo Quyt, a basement among residential places that is preserved and formerly contained an underground house, store, secret tunnel, etc. Overnight in Cao Lanh.

After breakfast in Cao Lanh, you will go through the Mekong River by ferry to Sa Dec, which is well-known for its ornamental floriculture in the south-west of Vietnam, and visit the famous ancient house Huynh Thuy Le of Marguerite Duras, author of The Lover.

The trip is followed by Sa Dec Flower Village, which has various types of flowers and numerous bonsai dating back a hundred years.

Later, visit Kien An Cung Pagoda, which was built with unique and sophisticated architecture. Lunch is served at a local restaurant, then we head to Can Tho for overnight.

Today you will start early in the morning to explore the busiest floating market of the Mekong Delta – Cai Rang floating market. Take in the beautiful scenery and daily activities of the locals who live along the Mekong canals, and you will roam through the village to visit a rice husking mill and a rice noodle-making shop.

The boat drops you off at Ninh Kieu Quay, then gets back to the hotel for breakfast and check out. After lunch, go on to Tra Su Cajuput Forest, which is renowned for not only its almost untouched natural beauty but also its sanctuary of flora and fauna.

Take a boat trip into the forest and harmonize with nature. The impressive pictures of cajuput, the fragrance of flowers, and the music-like noise of birds, insects, and animals will definitely make travelers not want to leave.

On the way back, stop by to visit Sam Mountain and the Cave Pagoda. Check into the hotel in Chau Doc and have free time for sightseeing.

After early morning breakfast, we will embark on the speedboat trip from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh. End the Saigon to Phnom Penh tour for 4 days at Phnom Penh Boat pier at about 13h30. End of services.
