Mekong Cycling Tour 3 Days
Overview
Itinerary
DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY - VINH LONG - CAI BE
(25 – 30km cycling)
Our team will arrange a central meeting point in the town or come pick you up at your hotel. From Saigon, it’s a 90-minute transfer by private van to the northern edge of the Delta. To start our ride the bikes are set up just down the road from a village market where locals will welcome you as neighbors. We set off on small rural roads and concrete canal paths this morning, visiting some of the artisans, weavers, and growers who call this region home.
The sights along the trails include stunning vistas of rice fields, lush vegetable and fruit farms, temples, pagodas, and countless local markets. There’s a well-timed stop for cold drinks and fresh fruit and just before lunch a visit to the largest wholesale produce market in southern Vietnam. Lunch today is served in a local restaurant with a meal specially prepared for our group. The ride runs through a maze of narrow alleys and small bridges leading to an ancient house set amid a peaceful fruit orchard. Return to Cai Be in the afternoon to relax at the beautiful Mekong River resort. You can relax by the pool, enjoy the spa services of the hotel, or simply spend a quiet afternoon with a book by the banks of the river. This evening you are free to dine as you wish, the resort itself has a great menu of traditional Vietnamese or French dishes. Overnight in Cai Be.

Pass by many cottage industries, cross over wooden bridges above small estuaries, and traverse large rivers via ferry en route to Vung Liem.
After stopping for lunch in a local restaurant, there will be a short transfer to discover the best cycling routes leading to Can Tho. The afternoon ride offers a change of scenery from this morning with open rice fields lined by palm and coconut trees. These quiet country roads pass through many small villages and offer another glimpse into the life of local people; a fantastic day of cycling that explores the true essence and pace of life in the Delta.
