DAY 1: HANOI - YÊN BÁI
Meet up with a guide and driver transfer to Yen Bai. On arrival, boat trip on Thac Ba Lake to the lodge. Thac Ba Lake is one of three of Vietnam’s largest artificial lakes and famous for the first hydropower plant. Check-in and enjoy lunch. Afternoon at leisure, dinner in an ecolodge. Overnight in Thac Ba Lake Ecolodge/homestay.

DAY 2: THAC BA LAKE
Breakfast in an ecolodge. After that, you will have a chance to visit Ngoi Tu village and Thac Ba Lake. Start a cruise on traditional boats, stop by an island and discover the particularities of this area: the way villagers paddle their boats, the exotic and odd animals living around, the quiet and peaceful beauty of this huge lake, the lifestyle of the Dao among the thousands of islets… An unforgettable experience and an amazing panoramic view of the lake! Start from Ngoi Tu village and first “deeper” discoveries of the lake (45 min. – boat). Stop in a traditional Dao house to drink a cup of tea and walk to interact with one of the many Dao families of the region. Walk on one of the islands and go up a hill to enjoy a beautiful walk and view of the lake (3 hours – walk) or take an easier walk deep in the local countryside with the second stop in another family house (3 hours – walk). Return by boat about 2 pm. Lunch is served. Free for your own leisure for the rest day. Overnight in Thac Ba Ecolodge.
