Start in Ho Chi Minh City. Explore the famous War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, and Ben Thanh Market. Then duck into the narrow alleys of Saigon and meet real locals along the way.

Next, head out to the colourful Cao Dai Temple and crawl through the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels. Both are fascinating. Both are unlike anything else in Vietnam.

From there, board a Mekong River cruise. Glide along quiet canals, visit fruit orchards, and wake up early for the buzzing Cai Rang floating market. Friendly vendors wave from their boats. It is a beautiful way to end the trip.

DAY 01: HO CHI MINH CITY ARRIVAL

Welcome to Vietnam! You are warmly greeted by our driver at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Transfer to your hotel, check-in, and take a rest to recover from jetlag. Overnight in Saigon.

DAY 02: HO CHI MINH SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, today we will get out and be surprised by the vibrancy of this industrious metropolis; tour the must-see sites including the Notre Dam Cathedral, Central Post Office, the torn past War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, and the aged old Ben Thanh Market; and immerse yourself in the chaos of traffic and commercial activities of this fascinating city’s life and lights that never seem to stop.

You will have a chance to get “off the beaten path” by discovering and walking into the narrow alleys of Saigon, seeing Saigonese real life, and interacting with local people. Overnight in Saigon.

DAY 03: CU CHI TUNNELS - CAO DAI

This morning, we transferred to Tay Ninh, where the Cao Dai Temple is located, to observe a colorful but solemn midday service. Caodaism is a combination of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Christianity.

After lunch, we will continue our drive to explore the complicated network of underground tunnels in Cu Chi, which were used by the V.C. and guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War. Overnight in Saigon.

DAY 04: HO CHI MINH CITY - DRIVE TO MEKONG/ CAI BE - EMBARK ON BOAT

Depart from Saigon to the Mekong Delta, embark on a boat, and discover the lush beauty of the Mekong Delta as you wind your way down narrow canals on a sampan that glides along fruit orchards, paddy fields, and sleepy villages.

You will have a chance to take a leisurely bike ride on the island, wave your hands, and say “xin chao” to the children and people on the village roads.

Furthermore, admiring the local life along the banks and enjoying your cocktails at sunset will not be missed. Having dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 05: CAN THO - DISEMBARKATION - DRIVE BACK TO HO CHI MINH CITY

Last early bird of the trip (at around 6.30 am) with a visit by boat to the famed Cai Rang floating market, where you can see a real hustle market, all in the water of the Mekong, where the vendors display the delta’s bounty of fruits and vegetables on their boats.

However, while busy selling and buying, they will never forget to throw you a happy smile and wave at you. Disembark and then drive back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.

DAY 06: HO CHI MINH CITY - DEPARTURE

Free at leisure on your own until the driver picks you up and transfers you to the airport for your onward flight.
