Ly Son island is known as Re island because, according to local elders, the island has a lot of Ré, a type of wood. This island is very rich of culture with more than 100 relics of temples, pagodas and ancient graves of soldiers. The beauty of the island inspires travellers in both domestic and international area.

  1. Ly Son Garlic

The island is distinguished for its vast garlic fields with a pungent aroma. That explains why Ly Son is called the kingdom of garlic. Garlic in Ly Son Island has plant with the special methods causing a difference you can not get anywhere else. Garlic is grown in fields, on mountains, under rocks, etc. Travel Indochina

So during the period of planting to harvest, apart from fertilizing, they must water the plants twice a day in the early morning and in the afternoon to neutralize the salinity of sea water. Garlic here is small, pure white, and has delicious odour.

Dao Be (Small Island) is a 1.2 square kilometers area, has a population of 400, representing more than 100 families who live by fishing and planting onions and garlic. It is featuring clean seaside waters in which a traveller can enjoy natural sightseeing and sink into the cool pure blue water. Hang pagoda or “Thien Khong Thach Tu”  was built by the inhabitants of Ly Son isle, and they took advantage of natural cave to make up 400 years ago. the pagoda has many particularly interesting alleys, having “The way go up heaven, the way go down hell”. It is a peaceful sanctuary with ancient architecture surrounded by beautiful scenery. Interior of pagoda was located ancestral altars of Tran family name who worked to break fresh ground and built it.

Ly Son Island is the great place to visit, in there, peoples are friendly, you can stay overnight in their house if you want! They are very happy when you visit and stay in their house.
